Dementia Friendly Lawrence County

Lucie Scott is the Network Director and Liaison for Lawrence county through the Rural Dementia Network and the IUH Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Service.

Lucie supports Orange and Lawrence Counties in her current role. She has experience as a social work intern and program facilitator at Jill’s House Memory Care (assisted living intergenerational preschool), a case manager for a group home for substance use and mental health and worked in social services at a skilled nursing facility for the long term and memory care units.

When asked about her connection to dementia Lucie says; “My connection to dementia has been through my professional career. I have gotten to engage with many different people living with dementia and support them and their care partners though case management and recreation. I am proud to be able to engage patiently and positively with people who have felt stigmatized or isolated due to their diagnosis.”
