Dementia Friendly Locations

Thank you for being involved in Dementia Friendly Communities.

Our goal is to change how people view dementia and raise awareness that some community members avoid daily activities because they fear others won't understand dementia or how to talk with them. This leads to isolation. Care partners often struggle to keep themselves and those they care for involved in their communities. This training shows how your business wants to be seen and demonstrates your commitment to making a positive impact by learning about dementia, its effects on communication and environment, and how we can support community members who still wish to enjoy local businesses and organizations.

See the person, not the disease.

How to get your business Dementia Friendly Certified

Find your Liaison and get signed up.

Don’t have one for your area, connect here.

Another option is training online, but you have to register your business, then you can pass along the online link to your employees, however we always recommend “in-person” training. You can also do a hybrid if it is hard to get all your employees together at one time. In this case I recommend reaching out to your DFIC Liaison to discuss your options!
