Join our dementia education course geared towards Positive Approach to Care® and the most innovative care and communication techniques. Learners will practice hands on skills and practice creating care plans that build on retained strengths of an individual instead of loss. All learners will receive a recognized certificate of completion for 20 hours of dementia specific education.

Includes lessons in improv skills to be flexible in moments of care through Improv, Virtual Dementia Tours®, Positive Approach to Care®, Brain Health Innovation, Basics of Dementia, along with aging and dementia care models and in person practice.

The goal of this class is to help you understand the perspectives of persons living with dementia by experience and learning from the person directly. Unlearn negative techniques and relearn human connection to offer a better way of care and connection both professionally and personally.

This class includes instruction, all workbook materials and certificates. To complete your certificate, you must be present for all 20 hours of instruction. Lunches are available on the IU Health Bloomington campus.
