Who are these gals?
I feel fortunate to work with a smart and caring team that understands the importance of advocating for dementia. We have different backgrounds; some are former caregivers, some are current caregivers, and others have worked in the field and recognized the need for better treatment.
I have always thought that we land in someone’s life for a reason. I definitely see the reason behind each of my team members. I am grateful that they are in my life pushing me to get to my dreams of making this place a better world for those affected by dementia who have struggled through a confusing and frustrating system of care. If there are just a few things we can do to make it better, you better believe these gals are on it.
Not only do they hold me accountable professionally, but also personally. Each of us have had our own experiences in this life that have led to us needing to lean on each other at one point or another. And I am truly grateful for that.
Recently we all had a workday where we got together to plan out all of next year’s educational events. It was a lot of planning and now I can see that my entire next year is full! However, one of our gals, who always thinks ahead and knows that we don’t have time to think about it due to our busy schedules, got us together for updated professional pictures. Good thing someone was thinking about it for us. Thanks Diana!
Anyway, from left to right in the back, my team members are Diana, Lucie, Dayna and front left to right, Natasha and myself. I think the picture captured us well.
